About Jenny

Jenny Lin, JD

♥

Jenny is a family and estates lawyer called to the British Columbia Bar in 2018, after graduating from the University of Victoria Faculty of Law. She practices remotely across BC, meeting clients by video or phone so legal help fits into real life, not the other way around.

Her family law practice covers the drafting of parenting and family agreements, negotiation and mediation of settlements, and complex jurisdictional matters, with experience appearing before both the Provincial and Supreme Courts of British Columbia.

Jenny's interest in family law started early: growing up, she saw firsthand how family transitions affect people beyond the legal paperwork. That shaped a trauma aware, empathetic approach to a part of the law that is rarely just about the law. Alongside her family practice, she guides clients through estate and incapacity planning, including wills, powers of attorney, representation agreements, and trusts built to hold up when they are needed most.

She is a member of the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers and fluent in Mandarin. Outside the practice, she plays tennis, does Pilates, and travels every chance she gets.
